Hotels in Milford Sound - Milford Sound

As one of New Zealand’s most visited spots Milford Sound is usually visited via a day trip from Queenstown or Te Anau. However it is well worth staying at least a couple of days in this World Heritage location. This allows you to truly appreciate the splendour of the scenery, take some scenic walks and enjoy Milford Sound after the day trip visitors have departed.

The only accommodation at Milford Sound is Milford Sound Lodge. This offers great accommodation options, ranging from a rainforest camping / caravan park to luxury style riverside chalets which sleep 2-4 guests. The Lodge also offers on-site breakfast, lunch and dinner dining options at the Pio Pio Restaurant (open 7 days) and also has a small camp shop.

As the only accommodation option at Milford Sound it can get booked up well in advance and there is a minimum 2 night stay in the chalets between November and April (high season). This is also true of the campervan park as there are only 20 spots available. please note the campervan park does not offer regular or roof top tent options.
